• Toni G. Wallace

    June 23, 2016
  • Toni Wallace was welcomed into the world on June 12, 1943 in San Francisco, CA. She was a WW 2 gift of love to Mr. & Mrs. Ernest and Dorothy Martinak.

Toni enjoyed a life typical of a Dallas youth in the 50’s and 60’s. An active student life at Grinner Elementary School and Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas.

A career in the computer business did much to broaden the scope of her professional life. Toni’s tenacity was best realized as she entered the world of the single mother. She was suddenly the sole responsibility for three lives. The “Glass Ceiling” was sometimes identified as a career “barrier” to some. Not for Toni…. Her anything you can do, I can do better ”attitude served her well in the world of computer marketing both at Xerox Computer Systems and other related automated system companies.

She was that special friend that you never forgot: Toni was the Sister that you did not have, but always wanted. The Mother that made you feel good and enriched your life..,

A wife, that offered her husband the highest level of “Shared Happiness”.

1978 was her decision making year, She, “nursed” her boyfriend (Don) back to health and then married him!!.

Toni’s Baptist life “ran deep” but no deeper than when her Son Wayne was graduated from Baylor Law School.

She and her husband Don traveled extensively in several continents dreaming dreams that they never hoped to find, let alone share with each other.

If you wish to learn more about this wonderful person, attend her memorial service which will be held at the Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 28 at 10 am.

She is survived by her husband, Don Wallace, sons; Wayne Lacy and wife Stacy Lacy, Son Bradley Lacy, Granddaughter Brianne, Sister Connie Martinak and Step Daughter Deb Wallace.

Toni, my first cousin on our daddies' side, and I frolicked together while our parents barbequed, fished, and talked "big talk." She enlivened those Sunday afternoons in the 1950's! Until quite recently, by phone we would hash over the memories of our mid-century childhoods--always with love and laughter. I was lucky to have Toni in my life.

Toni and I have been friends for more than 20 years. We played lots of BAD bridge together. I shall miss her much, and will have to "break in" a totally new bridge partner. I do know where she is now--in the arms of Jesus in Paradise. I'll see you there, my friend!!!

The four of us being Lynn Muirhead,Patsy Clifton, Toni Martinak, and myself were BFF and like all teenagers boy did we have fun, slumber parties every weekend at each others house, go out to all the drive-ins, Toni always got in the trunk, she and Lynn were more daring than Patsy and me, but they had more fun, in some ways it doesn`t seem so long ago. I will always love Toni. Julie
